AB - The Palestinian Ministry of Education (MoE) used to develop its strategic plans toward the Palestinian principals, in order to recognize these strategies and their efficacy, EPIC model was chosen since it has emphasized its effectiveness in developing the skills and competencies of new Principals. The study aimed to answer the following questions: What is the reality of the professional development strategies for the new principals employed in the Jerusalem schools in terms of the needs and challenges facing their professional development? And, what are the prospects for using EPIC’s global model in the professional development process of new managers by accompanying them to develop efficiency, education from practice, motivation, and community participation? To achieve the study objectives, qualitative methodology were applied, where the he first tool consisted of semi-closed interview questions, and applied on (7) new principals in Jerusalem schools, and the director of directors of the Palestinian MoE, the study also depended on the official documents in the selected schools as the second tool of the study. Study tools approved the reliability according to the judgment comity. The findings showed that Palestinian MoE depended on the training courses for professional development of the new principals that lead the employment process with a high degree of acceptance, it also hold cluster meetings between new and old principals, and provide an important documents and issues that help the new principals to achieve their tasks with a complete and practical method that covers the needs of the principals to manage all financial, material and human resources, while the findings showed that there were a shortage of providing incentives, where managers work hardly and personally to achieve and develop their professionality by the personal practice, and to share with local community among parent’s council of students and local organizations and individuals, seeking to gain a high degree of satisfaction, support and funding. The recommendations came from field results, where there is an ability to apply EPIC model for professional development for new principals by providing intensive accompaniment for new principals during the training courses, to create a synergy between theory and practice, which provides a high score of activity and practice, beside providing some motivations, especially the finance one, which showed its importance to ease professional development personally and their achievements.
