AU - جروان، علي صالح AU - الشواشرة، عمر مصطفى AU - طشطوش، رامي عبد الله AB - This study aimed to test the Efficacy of a Counseling Program Based on Self-Control Strategy in Reducing Compulsive Buying Behavior Among Yarmouk University Students. The sample of the study consisted of (30) female students were selected from the highest scores on the compulsive buying behavior, and have the desire to participate in the study. They were randomly divided to two equal groups: An experimental group and a control group. The experimental group took the treatment program, whereas the control group did not. To achieve the aims of the study, the researchers used Abu-Baker & Almamary (2019) compulsive buying behavior scale, Meanwhile, the researchers designed a counseling program based on self-control strategies. Results revealed a statistically significant difference in the post-test of compulsive buying behavior, in favor of the experimental group. In the same time, the study showed that means of compulsive buying behavior continued to improve positively in the follow up measurement, compared to the post-test, Thus, there are no statistical significant differences between post-test and follow up measurements, which reveal the effectiveness of the program for students, demonstrating the stability of the program’s impact.
