AU - بخش، عبد الرحمن أحمد AB - The study aimed to identify the intellectual foundations of the strategy and strategic schools of thought in contemporary administrative literature, and to uncover the mechanisms for benefiting from the various strategic schools of thought in formulating comprehensive and integrated strategies, and to provide some suggested recommendations to enhance the benefit of different strategic thought schools in the formation and development of a comprehensive formulation of the strategy. According to the nature of the current study, the descriptive analytical method was used to describe schools of strategic thought and analyze them to produce a holistic perspective of the strategy. The study reached several results, including: the strategy is a concept that is ambiguous and lacking clarity among the strategists due to its use in various knowledge and intellectual fields. The formation of the strategy is affected by many variables. The intellectual schools to formulate the strategy presented positive ideas if they were viewed in an integrated framework, the various ideas presented by the intellectual schools can be used to formulate more comprehensive strategies that take into account the various variables. The study recommends that academics should provide additional efforts in order to define accurate concepts of the strategy according to the different intellectual fields, and it is necessary to take advantage of all the ideas presented by the different intellectual schools, and the need for institutions in different fields of their work to train leaders and senior staff on these ideas and practices to ensure their conviction in them, and the need to intensify research efforts around studying the various factors and ideas that most influence the formulation and implementation of the strategy.
