AB - The aim of this study is to check the effect of using the learning cycle model (7E’S) on achievement and on ambition for the second grade intermediate students in teaching mathematic education compared with the ordinary method as control sample. The research problem: 1) what is the effect of using learning cycle (7E’S) on the achievement for the second grade students in teaching mathematics. 2) What is the effect of using learning cycle (7E’S) on the ambition among the second school students in teaching mathematics? The research hypotheses: 1) there is no difference statistically significant at the level (0,05) between the average degree of the of the experimental group students, in mathematics who are studying using learning cycle(7E’S). And the control group students who are studying traditional method. 2) There is no difference statistically significant at the level (0,05) between the average degree of the of the experimental group students ,on the level measure of the ambition who are studying using learning cycle(7E’S). And the control group students who are studying traditional method. The research limitations: 1) the second grade intermediate students, in Al Saqlawiya, city on Al-Ambar government for the school year (2009-2010). 2) Mathematics included in the first three chapters of the book of mathematics approved for the second grade average for the academic year (2009-2010). The subjects of the study consist of (60) male students, were chosen randomly, then divided into two groups: the experimental group which consist of 30 students, taught mathematics subject using learning cycle(7E’S) method and the control group which consist of 30 students. According to the importance of the content and the behavioral purposes, a test has been prepared which included (50) items, of the multiple choice items. The researcher has checked some of psychometric characteristics of the tests, and the validity of its paragraphs by presenting them to some experts. The first experimental group: has been taught by using learning cycle model. The control group: has been taught by using the conventional method. The statistical methods: 1) t-test. 2) Chi square. 3) Spearman - Brown equivalent. 4) Pearson correlation coefficient. 5) Coefficient of difficulty. Results revealed significant differences between the two groups in the achievement & ambition attributed to the teaching method in favor of the experimental group. The best achievement was registered for the experimental group which was taught according to the learning cycle model in comparison to the second group at a confidence level of (0.05). In the light of the results of the study the researcher presented a number of proposals and recommendation in the result of his study the most importance of that was: 1) using the learning cycle amended (7E’S) in teaching mathematics to the second grade intermediate student. 2) The unit preparation and training in the Ministry of Education, urges teachers of mathematics, the adoption of the revised learning cycle (7E’S).
