AB - The objective of this study is to identify the extent to which Authentic assessment strategies are applied in Jordanian schools, the obstacles to implementation, and how to overcome them. To achieve the objective of the study an observation card was applied to identify as to what degree these strategies were applied. A questionnaire was also applied to identify the obstacles to using these strategies and how to overcome these obstacles. The study tools were applied to 60 teachers (males and females).The researcher found that the degree of applying authentic evaluation strategies in the study group was low. There are several obstacles to using authentic evaluation strategies, most importantly: the time allocated to cover the course is inadequate to implement the real evaluation system. The study recommendations included several ways to overcome the obstacles facing application of authentic evaluation strategies: most notably is to increase the number of periods for teaching the courses.
