AB - The goal of this research is to build a course suggested for environmental science is based on– problems -based learning, and measure its effectiveness in developing the skills of futures thinking skills and environmental awareness among students of the Faculty of Education , Helwan University , and to achieve this goal the searcher has been designed a course of environmental science is based on problems -based learning, studied students band third Division basic education during the semester in the full range of image problems and pressing environmental issues , and have been prepared tools to search are: a test of futures thinking skills (which consisted of three subtests that measure three skills is a skill expectation, skill , speculation and skill solving future problems ) ,a scale of environmental awareness (which consisted of 40 items , 20 of which are positive and 20 negative designed according to the method Liker three- staging ), was applied two tools search in the two applications prior and subsequent to answer three research questions are: How effective is the program of the proposed course of environmental science -based learning centered on problems in the future development of thinking skills among students in the Faculty of Education , Helwan University ? How effective is the program of the proposed course of environmental science -based learning centered - problems in the development of environmental awareness among students of the Faculty of Education , Helwan University? What is the impact of different sex student teachers to develop all of the skills of forward thinking and environmental awareness have ?The data were analyzed using t-test for groups associated with , and then calculate the size of the effect ( to measure the effectiveness ) , in addition to using t-test for independent groups to test the difference between the sexes in the growth of the variables of the research. Have yielded results on the effectiveness of the proposed program, as results indicated a lack of statistically significant differences due to sex differences in growth among students in the research variables except skill expectation, according to results from the superiority of the female students.
