AU - المخزومي، ناصر محمود AU - البطاينة، زياد أحمد سلامة AB - The present study aimed at identifying the effects of “Tanaal Al-Qamur Or “Reach The Moon” teaching strategy on enhancing reading comprehension and composition writing skills of Basic –Education Stage students in Jordan. To achieve this purpose the two researchers selected. A sample of 69 male and female seventh-graders who were enrolled in Al-Naeemah Compre- hensive school for girls and Ibn-Taymiah secondary school for boys during the academic year (2011-2012). These two schools belong to Erbed educational district. The whole sample were divided into four sections (two groups from each school). Also, to achieve the objectives of this study, the two researchers have developed two tests; one for reading comprehension; and the other for composition writing. Validity and reliability of the two tests have been, also, achieved. Results of the study have indicated that: Male and female students of the experimental group(s) have achieved higher in the Post test of reading comprehension. Both male and female students showed similar interest in using the new strategy. Male and female students of the experimental group(s) have achieved higher in the Post test of Composition Writing. Results related to gender indicated a tangible improvement in composition writing. Favoring female-students of the experimental group compared to their counter partners of the male ones.
