AU - الشهري، ظافر بن فراج AB - The study aimed to identify the level of mastering mathematical reasoning thinking (inductive and deductive thinking) of the third grade secondary education students, and its relationship to the social and education types. To achieve that, the researcher used an analytical descriptive approach (survey) based on the description of the reality and its analysis through a prepared test in mathematical reasoning thinking. A total of random sample (668) students in Tabuk city participated in this study, including (444) male and (224) female students enrolled in the third grade secondary education. The study results showed that the mastery level of mathematical reasoning thinking for the sample was low, percentage average (37.5%), which is lower than the educationally acceptable level (75%). There were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between scores-means of the sample regarding the mathematical reasoning thinking and its deduction type in favor of the male students; while there were no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between scores-means of the sample of inductive reasoning thinking level regarding the social type (male - female). Also, there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between scores-means of the sample of mathematical reasoning thinking and its two types regarding the education type (public - private) in favor of the public education. Related recommendations and suggestions for further research were discussed.
