AU - الدخيل، علي بن فهد AU - محمد، عوض الله محمد أبو القاسم AB - The aim of this study was to find out the effectiveness of a training program in developing some social skills for students with mild-intellectual disabilities. The sample consisted of (18) students of intellectual disabilities from Imam Shafi'i primary school in Al-Majmaah province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They were purposively chosen. The study used a social skills scale (developed by the researchers) and a training program that was designed to achieve the study objective. To address the data, the Statistical Package for Science (SPSS) was used. The results revealed the effectiveness of the training program in developing social skills for students with mild-intellectual disability, statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the means of pre and post-measurement, in favor of post; and statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the averages of the pre and post-measurement, for all dimensions of the scale according to the skill type. The general social skills were the most effective with a pre-statistical mean of (9.333) and post of (10.611); followed by the dimension of social communication skills with a post-statistical mean of (9.111). Finally, the study provided some recommendations, the most important of which include the need to prepare people who work with children with mild-intellectual disabilities in schools to develop social skills through various activities (sports, cultural, artistic).
