AB - This study aimed mainly at investigating the effectiveness of a strategy SWOM to develop reflective thinking skills of 2nd secondary students. To achieve the objective of the study, the researcher applied the empirical method which was based on the semi-experimental design. The sample size used was 97 students, randomly chosen from the original population which was represented by the whole students who study at the public2nd secondary students of high schools at Al-Qunfuthah region in the academic year of 1438-1439. There were 48 students in the using the strategy SWOM and the other 49 students studied the same unit in the same grade using the traditional teaching strategy. The research instruments used were higher order thinking skills tests. With the statistical analyses being completed, the researcher reached the following results: t-tests for the two groups confirmed that there were significant statistical differences at (α≤ 0.05) between the averages of students' grades of the two groups. In the light of these results, the study recommended some recommendations resulting from the results of the study. (Published abstract) http://search.shamaa.org/abstract_en.gif
