AB - The study aimed to detect the effect of using McCarthy strategy (4mat) for teaching of science in the correction of alternative conceptions, reflective thinking and the scientific values among the students of second class of intermediate schools, the study sample consisted of (92) students, divided into two groups experimental and control group, each group consisted of (46) students, the experimental group studied by using McCarthy’s strategy, while the control group used the usual method, the following study tools been applied: the test of alternative conceptions, test of reflective thinking, and the measure of scientific values, and after the collection and analysis of information have been reached several results as: 1) there are significant differences at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of experimental and control groups students in the study tools in favor of the experimental group students. 2) Existence of correlation statistically significant relationship between the total scores to test defining the alternative conceptions, reflective thinking test, and the measure of scientific values separately for the application of the posttest experimental group students. 3) The of McCarthy’s strategy effect was big in the correction of alternative conceptions and the scientific values where the total value of the (2) respectively was: (0.84, 0.95, 0.91) which confirms the effectiveness of the strategy in the correction alternative conceptions & the development of reflective thinking and scientific values, the study included a number of recommendations to according to the results.
