AU - العجلان، إبتسام بنت إبراهيم بن محمد AB - The study aimed to examine the degree to which high school students possess the habits of the mind from the perspectives of physics teachers in Riyadh city, through responding to the following research questions: 1) what is the degree of possessing the habits of the mind among high school students in Riyadh city? 2) Do the responses of physics teachers vary in terms of the degree of possessing habits of the mind among high school students in Riyadh city according to (the qualification - the experience)? To achieve the objectives of this study, the descriptive approach was used, and a questionnaire was constructed and verified for validity and stability. The questionnaire was electronically distributed to the study population using google website (www.google.com). The study revealed the following findings: the mean responses of the study population about the degree of possessing the habits of the mind among high school students in Riyadh city ranged from 2.274 to 2.513. In addition, the total degree of possessing the habits of the mind among high school students in Riyadh city, from the perspective of physics teachers, was high. Mutual thinking was the most common habit among high school students with mean of 2.513, followed by perseverance habit with a mean 2.384, followed by flexible thinking habit with a mean of 2.274, followed by questioning and problem posing habit with a mean of 2.252. There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean responses of physics teachers in the degree of possessing the habits of the mind among high school students (questioning and posing problems - flexible thinking - mutual thinking - perseverance) according to scientific qualifications. There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average responses of physics teachers in the degree of possessing the habits of the mind among high school students (questioning and posing problems - flexible thinking - mutual thinking - perseverance) according to the experience. There are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) for the (flexible thinking) habit which is attributed to the experience variable among female teachers who have less than five years of experience, and female teachers who have more than 5 years of experience and less than 10 years. Based on the findings of this study, the researcher recommends the following: providing secondary school physics teachers with training courses about introducing the habits of the mind and how to develop them. Assisting teachers on how to provide an attractive classroom environment that contribute to the development of mind. Conducting a study to measure the degree of possessing the habits of the mind among high school students using tests and measurements applied to the students. As well as, constructing a proposed vision for the unit that combines the architecture theory with the brain-based learning to develop the habits of mind.
