AU - يوسف، سلوى حلمي علي AB - The study aimed to provide alternative scenarios to the new system of general secondary education, which began in 2018-2019 in the light of grid- group cultural theory. To achieve this aim the study identified the relationship between school reform and school culture, and explained the new system of general secondary education, also determined the cultural types in general secondary schools in Beni Suef governance, as well as, examined the obstacles of implementing school reform from the point of view of the teachers. The study used the descriptive methodology. a questionnaire was applied to a sample of 342 teachers, and two focused groups were conducted with the teachers. The study found that: the hierarchy type is the predominant cultural type in the general secondary schools with percentage (88.01%), while the egalitarian type is found with percentage (9.06%), however percentage of the individual type is found (2.92%), finally, the fatalist type disappeared completely. In regard to the obstacles of school reform in general secondary schools, The study found that the difficulty of school reform implementation due to differences in culture and the societal context, and the teacher resistance, as well as, teacher's weak perception of the value of new initiatives, also, the lake of resources, finally, weak training capacity to provide teachers with the required information and skills to implement the new initiatives. Finally, Three alternative scenarios namely the reference, corrective and creative scenario have been developed in order to implement the new system of general secondary education. These scenarios have been developed in the light of grid- group cultural theory.
