AU - السرساوي، هنادي ذياب AU - جعفر، فاطمة AB - The study aimed at investigating the impact of using Guided Discovery Strategy (GDS) on academic achievement and the survival of the impact of learning in science for second grade students in Ain El-Basha in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. To achieve the study objective, the researcher used a quasi-experimental design. The research population consisted of all second basic class students at the schools of the Ministry of Education in Ain Al-Basha District amounting (2260) both male and female, distributed in (61) schools. The study was applied to a sample consisted of (50) students of second grade students in Al-Enjaz International School in Ain Al-Basha District. The sample was divided into two groups, the first one was the experimental group of 25 students, who were taught (The Sound) and (The Environment) units using the (GDS). The second group was 25 students who were taught the same two units in the traditional way, during the second semester of the academic year 2017/2018. Two tools were developed by the researcher to collect data; a teaching program based on (GDS) and an achievement test. Data was analyzed using means, percentages, and t-test, Results revealed the following: 1) there is a statistically significant difference in the achievement test in favor of the experimental group. 2) There is a statistically significant difference in the Survival of Learning Impact test in favor of the experimental group. Based on the results, the researcher recommended more research to be conducted in the field of teaching and detecting the impact of learning survival of different disciplines and levels of teaching.
