AB - The current study aimed to identify the social skills, positive thinking and their relation to the addiction on social communication networks among students of Al-Azhar University-Gaza. The study sample consisted of (331) students from Al-Azhar University-Gaza in the year of 2015-2016, the sample was randomly selected, and to achieve the study objective; the researcher adopted the descriptive analytical methodology. The researcher used three tools scales for the current study; Addiction on social networks’ tools scales (prepared by the researcher), social skills’ tools scales (prepared by Mr. Ibrahim Alsmadoni), and the positive thinking’s tools scales (prepared by Mr. Abdulsatar Ibrahim). The statistical methods used were; (arithmetic means, standard deviations, person correlation coefficients, regression (Multiple linear stepwise regression, and simple linear normal regression), T-tests, one way analysis of variance, and Scheffe' Test. The study concluded the following results: 1) The score of addiction on social communication networks among the students of Al-Azhar University was medium, the score of social skills was low\ below medium, and the score of positive thinking was medium. 2) There was a statistically significant direct relationship between, the total score of addiction on social communication networks and its dimensions, and the total score of social skills and its dimensions. 3) The study results showed a statistically significant inverse relationship between the total score of addiction on social communication networks and its multiple dimensions, and the total score of positive thinking and some of its dimensions, among the students of Al-Azhar University. 4) Most of the coefficients were weak and mostly insignificant between the social skills dimensions and its total score, and the positive thinking dimensions and its total score. 5) The social skills among the students of Al-Azhar University in Gaza had a statistically significant effects on the addiction on social communication networks, and the best variables to predict the degree of addiction among the social skills’ dimensions are (Emotional expression, social control, and social expression), in which; the more score they obtain, the less degree of addiction they have on social communication networks. 6) The positive thinking among the students of Al-Azhar University in Gaza had a statistically significant effects on the addiction on social communication networks, and the best variables to predict the degree of addiction are the following dimensions (emotional intelligence, learning desire and healthy cognitive enlightenment, positive acceptance of differences in others, and forgiveness and generosity), in which; the more the score they obtain, the less the degree of addiction they have on social communication networks. 7) There are statistically significant differences in the total score of the addiction on social communication networks’ indicator and its dimensions among the students of Al-azhar University due to (sex, age, school level, duration of usage, the number of daily usage hours, usage period, and place), and there are no significant differences in (Specialty, and economic situations). 8) There are no statistically significant differences in the total score for the social skills’ indicator and its dimensions, and the positive thinking’s indicator and its dimensions due to (sex, age, school level, duration of usage, the number of daily usage hours, usage period, location, specialty, and economic conditions). 9) There are statistically significant differences between people with low scores and people with high scores in the addiction on social communication networks’ indicator among the social skills dimensions, and also the total score for the positive thinking’s indicator and some of its dimensions. The differences in the social skills’ indicator came in favor of people with high scores. However, the differences in the total score of the social skills’ indicator and some of its dimensions came in favor of people with low scores.
