AB - This study aims at investigating: 1) the degree of educational counselor’s ego–resiliency among preparatory stage students. 2) Is the level cognitive distortion among preparatory stage students? 3) The relationship between the educational counselor’s ego – resiliency and the cognitive distortion among preparatory stage students. 4) Difference in relationship according to sex variable. To achieve the aim of the present study, the researcher adopted a block scale (ego- resilience scale 1989) " jack block '' standard by (Ghani 2010) to measure the educational counselors ego–resiliency, and adopted the scale of (cognitive distortion inventory). (Yurica & Ditomaso, 2001) which standardized by (Al-Saadawi 2014), after applying the scales to the sample study, which consist of (200) male and female students of the high school. The results showed that the educational counselor’s ego–resiliency was (low), while the degree of cognitive distortion deformity was (high), and the relationship between the two variables was (negative and reverse), the results also showed that there was not statistically significant differences between the two variables.
