AB - This study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a computerized interactive educational program to address the weakness of UNRWA schools fourth graders in fractions and fractional numbers. The researcher used the experimental method which suits the nature of such a study. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher designed a computerized interactive educational software pertaining to Multi fractions and fractional numbers using interactive PowerPoint and flash. The software included nineteen lesson supported with examples, illustrations , activities and different assessment means applying interactive tools such as sound, color and movement available in PowerPoint and flash. The researcher designed an achievement pre-test to measure the level of achievement of the study sample who were (60) fourth grade female students of weak achievement intentionally chosen from Qarara Primary School for Refugees. The sample was divided into two equal groups, i.e. one experimental (30) students who studied the unit of fractions and fractional numbers using interactive educational computerized programme. The other is the controlled group (30) students who studied the unit of fractions and fractional numbers traditionally. After carrying out the experiment which lasted for 19 periods, the researcher administered an achievement post-test consisting of (50) multiple-choice items on the two groups in order to measure the the effectiveness of the intended programme in treating the students' weaknesses in fractions and fractional numbers. In the light of the test results, the researcher reached the following findings: 1) There are statistically significant differences at the level α = 0.05 in the students' average mean scores in favor of the experimental group, i.e. T = (7.86), sig. = (0.01). The result strongly refutes the null hypothesis and accepts the alternative hypothesis. To assure the test's reliability, the researcher used ETA coefficient, i.e. ETA = (0.516), with large effect which confirms that differences in means were realistic. To test the second hypothesis, the researcher used L-Black scoring rate method which calculates the steady score rate. The result showed that L-Black steady score rate = 1.26 which confirms the effectiveness of the suggested computerized interactive educational software in addressing the weakness of fourth grade students in fractions and fractional numbers. On the basis of the study results, the researcher recommends: 1) It is necessary that Ministry of Education (MOE) concern with the adoption of such a computerized interactive educational software for its undoubted impact in the educational process. 2) MOE should also intensify courses and workshops which aim to spread the culture of computerized interactive educational software in schools and educational institutions. 3) In addition, MOE is inquired to support schools with computers and laboratories to facilitate spreading such a modern style of education. 4) It is also recommended that teachers need to develop their skills in this area and rely on computers as educational tools in the periods. 5) As for other researchers, the researcher recommends the need to intensify researching in the area of using modern technologies in the educational process.
