AB - The study aims at identifying the impact of the employing the two strategies of concept maps and learning cycle in developing deductive thinking skills in Islamic Education course of tenth grade students. To conduct this study, the researcher used the experimental method that based on three groups of pre / post design. The sample of the students was selected from the Jabal Almokaber Secondary School totaling 120 students. The sample was divided into three groups; an experimental group (1) consisting of (40) students who studied according to concept maps strategy, experimental group (2) consisting of (42) students who studied according to learning cycle strategy, and a control group consisting of (38) students who studied in the traditional method. The tools of the study included a deductive thinking skills scale that consists of (38) items. The researcher applied the test on a pilot sample consisting of 40 students in order to calculate the difficulty and discrimination coefficient, and to ensure the validity and reliability of the test. The researcher also prepared a guide for the teacher in accordance with the steps of the strategies of concept maps, and learning cycle. The most important findings of the study: 1) There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the control group, and the first experimental group (concept maps) in favor of the first experimental group. 2) There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the control group and the second experimental group (learning cycle) in favor of the second experimental group. 3) There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the first experimental group (concept maps), and the second experimental group (learning cycle) in favor of the first experimental group. The most important recommendations of the study: 1) Encouraging the teachers of Islamic education course to employ strategies of learning cycle and concept maps a in teaching the units of Prophetic biography contained in the Islamic education course, especially in the secondary stage for developing their deductive thinking. 2) Paying more attention to developing deductive thinking skills of the teachers through conducting workshops, training courses and whatsoever necessary to teach in the suitable way.
