It aims to study the use of flash cards, both one sided and two sided and word lists on learning English vocabulary. It also aims to draw comparisons between three types of strategies .The participants were ninety students from King Abdallah High School. There were three experimental groups (thirty participants in each): a) studied vocabulary from bilingual word lists; b) studied vocabulary from bilingual flash cards, where the target word and its Arabic meaning were on one side; c) studied vocabulary from bilingual flash cards, where the target words were on one side, and their Arabic meanings were on the other side. The study followed T1-treatment-T2 format, where participants were pretested with the target words, given the new vocabulary, and post tested on the target words for any retention or attrition effects. Finally, the research concluded that there are no significant differences between the three types of flash cards in King Abdallah High School. These results can be generalized in the larger Saudi Arabian context. (Published abstract) http://search.shamaa.org/abstract_en.gif AB - تهدف الدراسة إلى التعرف على أثر تدريس التفسير باستخدام الأسئلة السابرة في التحصيل وتنمية مهارات التفكير الناقد لدى طلاب الصف الثاني المتوسط. وقد أجري البحث على عينة قوامها 44 طالباً. قسّمت إلى مجموعتين: ضابطة وتجريبية. واستخدم اختبار تحصيل من نوع اختيار من متعدد، واختبار قياس مهارات التفكير الناقد طبّقا على المجموعتين تطبيقاً قبلياً وبعدياً بعد دراسة وحدتي تفسير "سورة الصف" و"سورة الشعراء". وأظهرت النتائج تفوق المجموعة التي درست الأسئلة السابرة على المجموعة التي درست بالطريقة المعتادة؛ حيث سجّلت فروق ذوات دلالة إحصائية في اختبار التحصيل بين المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة، وذلك لصالح المجموعة التجريبية التي درست وفق الأسئلة السابرة على المجموعة التي درست وفق الطريقة المعتادة. كما سجّلت فروق دالة إحصائياً في اختبار التفكير الناقد بين المجموعين التجريبية والضابطة ولصالح المجموعة التجريبية. وفي ضوء نتائج الدراسة، أوصى الباحث باستخدام الأسئلة السابرة بشكل فعال في تدريس فروع التربية الإسلامية الأخرى (الحديث، الفقه، التوحيد). وكذلك بضرورةعقد دورات تدريبية لمدرسي التربية الإسلامية على استعمال الأسئلة السابرة، وعدم الاقتصار على الطرائق التدريسية التي تعتمد على التلقين والحفظ.
