AB - هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة دوافع التحاق طلبة السنة الأولى للعام الدراسي 2014/ 2015 بجامعة السلطان قابوس والجامعات خارج السلطنة، والوقوف على ترتيبها من حيث أهميتها، والتعرف على الفروق المتعلقة بدوافع الالتحاق لأفراد عينة الدراسة في ضوء متغيرات الجنس والكلية والمنطقة السكنية. وقد قام الباحث بتطوير استبانتين تكونتا من 27 فقرة. طبقت الدراسة على عينة تكونت من 662 طالباً وطالبة من طلبة جامعة السلطان قابوس والطلبة الدارسين بالجامعات خارج السلطنة. وأشارت النتائج إلى أن دوافع التحاق طلبة السنة الأولى بجامعة السلطان قابوس هي: حصولهم على معونة مالية شهرية جيدة، والتخصص الذي التحقوا به، حيث لا يوجد بكليات أو جامعات أخرى بالسلطنة، وحصول خريجي الجامعة على وظيفة بسرعة، وعلى ترقيات سريعة بمجالات أعمالهم، وتقاضي خريجي الجامعة رواتب جيدة. وأن دوافع التحاق طلبة السنة الأولى للدراسة بالجامعات خارج السلطنة هي: أن معدلهم لم يؤهلهم للالتحاق بجامعة السلطان قابوس، والتخصص الذي التحقوا به لا يوجد بجامعة السلطان قابوس، وتلبية لرغبة والديهم، وحصولهم عند الدراسة بالجامعات خارج السلطنة على معونة مالية شهرية جيدة، وانطباعهم السلبي عن جامعة السلطان قابوس من الطلبة الدارسين بها. Ranking of importance of reasons as well as differences in motives of enrollment based on gender, college and residential area were explored. The researcher developed two questionnaires with 27 items. They were applied to a sample that consisted of 662 male and female students from Sultan Qaboos University and students studying in universities outside the sultanate. The results indicated that the motivesfor student enrolling in the first year at Sultan Qaboos University were: access to good financial support, availability of their specialization, securing jobs quickly, quick promotions, and good salaries. The results also indicated that the motives to join universities outside the Sultanate were: their GPA did not qualify participants for enrollment at Sultan Qaboos University, the unavailability of specialization at Sultan Qaboos University, the desire of their parents, receiving good monthly financial support, and negative perception of Sultan Qaboos University.
