AU - العنزي، أمل خلف AB - The study aims to identify the reasons behind the organizational conflicts, its types, and the strategies taken by the vice-chair of departments to manage the conflicts at Tabuk University, from the perspective of female faculty. The study also attempts to define the statistically significant differences of the strategies of managing the organizational conflicts, depending on the following variables: the academic rank of faculty, years of experience, and type of college. To achieve these goals, descriptive exploratory approach is used with a questionnaire to collect the data from 127 female faculty members. Results show that all the reasons of organizational conflict sometimes happens especially the organizational reasons then the personal reasons. The most important types of conflict occurring in the university are: the conflict between one faculty and the vice- chair, then the vice- chair and group of faculty, and between a group of administrators and another. The strategies taken by the vice-chair to manage the conflict subsequently are as follows: integral strategy, settlement strategy, satisfaction strategy, and lastly ignorance strategy. There are no statically significant differences in the strategies used by vice-chairs in dealing with conflicts according to academic rank of faculty, years of experience, and type of college. Therefore, some recommendations to improve the management of organizational conflicts are provided.
