AB - The present study aimed to identify the role of the family in developing the child's moral values in light of Islamic education from the perspectives of kindergarten teachers and mothers at Najran city. To do so, a two-dimension instrument to measure the role of the family in promoting the child's moral values was developed and then used after being checked for validity and reliability. The first dimension sought to identify the reality of the role of the family in promoting the child's moral values while the second one investigated the perspectives of kindergarten teachers and mothers in accordance to the development of the role of the family in the promotion of the child's moral values. Results showed that the reality of the role of the family in promoting the child's moral values was, in general, perceived high by kindergarten teachers and mothers. Their perceptions of the development of kindergarten reality were also seen high. At the end, the study proposed developing a strategic plan by universities and research centers that benefit ministries, institutions and associations concerned with the family and child that could educate the family the true Islamic education based on the approach of the Prophet, peace be upon him. This strategic plan should also implant and promote the moral values in the family and child using modern ways and means and then employ them effectively. In addition, improper behaviors should be treated according to their prevalence and importance. The study also proposed the importance of organizing educational workshops for families to foster the moral values within the child and enhance the integration of the educational efforts of both the family and kindergarten.
