AU - الرصاعي، محمد سلامة قاسم AU - صالح، ريم علي AU - الهليلات، ختام AB - The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of the incorporating of life skills in the science textbooks for the first three grades in Jordan. The authors used contents analysis technique. A list of life skills were developed to be incorporated in the targeted books consist of 63 life skills. The study revealed that the number of life skills in science textbooks were (764) times over (7) main life skills categories. Thinking skills had the highest ratios of (53.27%), followed by the social skills (18.72%), and hand-scientific skills (17.93%). In addition, the health skills, precautionary skills, food skills, and environmental awareness skills were rarely mentioned, while emotional skills were not mentioned at all. The study recommended the need to concrete on life skills in the developing and preparation of sciences textbooks.
