AU - الزيودي، ماجد محمد. AB - The study aimed at identifying Authoritarian practices of Academy staff at Taibah University, and its relation with the university students' attitudes. The study used a descriptive analytical method, the study sample consisted of (400) students (male & female). In addition, two questionnaires of respectively 25 and 18 items were used and that is upon confirmation of their validity and reliability. The results revealed an overall average level (3.27) of authoritarian practices. The highest score was in in assessment practices (3.70) followed by student-staff rapport (3.30), personal characteristics (3.06), and teaching methods (3.02). Students (male & female) majoring in scientific fields seem to undergo a higher level of authoritarian practices than those doing Social Studies. An average level of 3.02 represents students’ negative attitude towards the university. Results have also exposed a cause and effect correlation (0.63) between instructors’ authoritarian practices and student’s attitudes towards the University.
