To ensure that, the study sets three hypotheses, third secondary students are weak in listening and speaking skills, the implementation of the communicative activities impact positively on teaching the listening and speaking skills, there is no a statistical difference on the standards of the listening and speaking skills for the students who are instructed according to the principles of the communicative activities and the one who are instructed according to the traditional activities. The study applies the experiment by selecting two groups of (41 students) randomly, experimental group (21 students) and control group (20 students) from Khartoum secondary schools for boys. The study used the quantitative method. After the statistical analysis of the pre-posttests for both groups the study revealed that: third secondary school students are weak in listening and speaking, communicative activities had impacted positively on teaching the listening and speaking skills, there is statistical difference on the standards of the listening and speaking skills for the students who are instructed according to the Communicative Activities and the students who are instructed according to the Traditional one. Then the study recommends that: Traditional activities should be replaced by the communicative activities; English language teachers should receive large doses of training on applying the principles of the communicative activities. (Author’s abstract) http://search.shamaa.org/abstract_en.gif AB - هدفت الدراسة إلى تطوير الكفاءة الاتصالية عبر الأنشطة الاتصالية. ولتأكيد ذلك وضعت الدراسة ثلاث فرضيات وهي: أن طلاب الصف الثالث الثانوي ضعاف في مهارتي الاستماع والتحدث، وتطبيق الأنشطة الاتصالية في تدريس مهارتي الاستماع والتحدث يؤثر إيجابياً على مهارات الطلاب في الاستماع والتحدث، وهنالك فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستويات الطلاب الذين درسوا وفقاً لمبادئ الأنشطة الاتصالية في الاستماع والتحدث والطلاب الذين درسوا وفقاً لمبادئ الأنشطة التقليدية في الاستماع والتحدث. ولتطبيق التجربة اختارت الدراسة مجموعة تتكوَّن من 41 طالباً، مجموعة ضابطة تتكوَّن من 20 طالباً ومجموعة تجريبية تتكون من 21 طالباً من طلاب مدرسة الخرطوم الثانوية/ بنين في العام 2012- 2013. استخدمت الدراسة الطريقة الكمية، وحيث أظهرت نتائج التحليل الإحصائي أن مستوى درجات الطلاب للمجموعتين الضابطة والتجريبية في الاختبار القبلي متساوية، وأن هنالك فروقاً ذات دلالة إحصائية في درجات للمجموعة التجريبية والمجموعة الضابطة في الاختبار البعدي، كما أن هنالك فروقاً ذات دلالة إحصائية في درجات الطلاب في الاختبار البعدي للمجموعة التجريبية. وخلصت الدراسة إلى التوصيات التالية: 1) أن تحل الأنشطة الاتصالية محل الأنشطة التقليدية. 2) اعتماد الأنشطة الاتصالية أنشطة بديلة في تدريس اللغة الانجليزية في المرحلة الثانوية. 3) إعطاء معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية جرعات تدريبية في استخدام مبادئ الأنشطة الاتصالية في تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية 4) أن يعمل مشرفو اللغة الإنجليزية على المساعدة والتشجيع على تطبيق الأنشطة الاتصالية في العملية التعليمية.
