The participants of this quasi-experimental study consisted of 60 pupils in the first-year preparatory stage at El Boughdadi preparatory school. They were assigned to an experimental group and a control group. There were three different instruments used in this study; namely an EFL speaking skills checklist to determine the speaking skills appropriate for the participants, an EFL speaking test to measure the participants' speaking skills and an EFL speaking skills rubric to score the participants' performance in speaking. Results of the study revealed that the experimental group outperformed the control group on the post administration of the speaking test. Thus, it was concluded that using computer edutainment activities had positive effects on developing the speaking skills of the target sample. A number of recommendations and suggestions for further research were presented.
