A1 الحارثية، آمنة بنت سالم A2 العاني، وجيهة ثابت A2 الفهدي، راشد سليمان AB The study aimed to reveal how the administrative decision-making process is carried out in the light of the professional ethics from the viewpoint of principals through some administrative situations related to the teaching staff, as well as the proposed mechanisms to contribute to directing school principals to take administrative decisions in the light of profession ethics. The study population consisted of all principals of basic education schools in all the states of Muscat Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. The descriptive approach was used by designing an interview card. Data were collected from a sample of 20 principals from basic education schools within the second cycle. The collected data was dealt using qualitative approach through analyzing the responses and their frequencies. The results showed that the most frequent of these theories in dealing with situations related to the teaching staff are the theories of criticism and care. The study also found that principals using one theory in decision-making, while complex situations required them to use more than one theory to make a decision about them deal with some uncomplicated situations. A number of mechanisms were suggested to develop the administrative decision-making process in the light of professional ethics, the most important of which is providing training courses in professional ethics, and exchanging experiences and visits between school principals, as well as encouraging awareness of the ethics of the profession, and developing a guide for the principal. The study concluded a number of recommendations and research proposals.
