A1 الجهوري، منى بنت خميس A2 الظفري، سعيد بن سليمان AB The current research aimed to investigate students psychological stress around the homework among some variables for grade four in Al Batina North Governorate in Sultanate of Oman. The research sample consisted of 279 students, of whom 123 males and 156 females. Kataz scale for homework stress was administered to a random sample of students. The scale was first translated by the researchers. Then the validity of the measure was checked by presenting the scale to a group of experts in this field as well as the discriminative validity was carried out. For reliability of the scale, it was verified by using Cronbach alpha coefficient. The researchers also used Buri Scale of parenting styles after adapting it to Omani culture. The results indicated that there were statistical gender differences in homework stress in favor of males. Statistically significant differences were found in homework stress attributed to a number of family members as well as there were no statistically significance differences in homework stress based on status of mother. In addition, the result revealed that the homework stress could be predicted by parenting styles (father authoritarian style).
