A1 الحجار، محمد سعيد أحمد A2 المزين، سليمان حسين موسى A2 شلدان، فايز كمال A2 سلمان، محمد إبراهيم AB This study aimed to measure the degree to which Palestinian universities practice administrative control and its relationship to the level of institutional performance, and to identify the level of institutional performance in Palestinian universities. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method, and the study sample consisted of (273) male and female employees in the Palestinian universities (the Islamic University-Gaza, Al-Aqsa University, and Palestine University). The researcher designed the study tools, two questionnaires, the first one included (32) items and the second one (17) items. The researcher used the Statistical Package for Social Studies (SPSS) program. Among the most important results of the study were the following: 1) The degree of practice of administrative control by Palestinian universities from the point of view of the study sample members was high, with a relative weight of (73.97%). 2) There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≥0.05) between the mean scores of the study sample’s estimates of the degree of practicing administrative control due to the variables of gender, academic degree, and job title in the total degree and all fields. There are differences attributed to the variable (university) in favour of the Islamic University-Gaza and Palestine University in contrast with Al-Aqsa University, while no differences are found between the Islamic University and Palestine University. 3) The level of institutional performance in Palestinian universities from the point of view of the study sample members has a high degree of agreement, and a relative weight of (78.30%). 4) There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≥0.05) between the mean scores of the study sample members' estimate of the level of institutional performance due to the variables of gender, academic degree, and job title in the total degree and all fields. There are differences attributed to the variable (university) in favour of the Islamic University-Gaza and Palestine University in contrast with Al-Aqsa University, whereas no differences are found between the Islamic University-Gaza and Palestine University. 5) There is a direct correlation between the degree of practice of administrative control and the level of institutional performance according to the estimates of the sample members, and the total correlation coefficient was (0.80). Among the most important recommendations are the following: 1) The necessity for Palestinian universities to activate and adhere to administrative control because of its strong positive correlation in raising the level of its institutional performance. 2) Conducting an evaluation of the administrative control systems adopted in Palestinian universities to be comprehensive and placed within specific standards, and to update them constantly.
