A1 البدري، هند عبد الرزاق ناجي AB The research aimed to identify research is to find the relationship between proportional thinking and the mathematics department's attitudes towards mathematics. The research sample consisted of (218) male and female students from the third stage of the academic year (2020/ 2021 AD), To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher prepared a scale that measures students’ attitudes towards mathematics, in its initial form consisting of (36) paragraphs distributed over four areas: (The value of mathematics) In society, concern about mathematics, self-concept in mathematics, mastering in mathematics and the three alternatives (agree / neutral / disagree) and its apparent validity was verified by presenting it to a group of arbitrators composed of professors specialized in science, educational and psychological sciences, as well as verifying its validity. And its stability, as its value reached (0.81), and a proportional thinking test was prepared consisting of (21) multiple-choice objective items, and its validity and stability were verified, as its reliability coefficient reached (0.84), and the data were treated statistically by using one sample and two independent samples,( ztest): arithmetic means, Pearson correlation coefficient, and( z-test) reached the following results: The third stage students in the Department of Mathematics possess a high level of proportional reasoning. The students of the third stage in the mathematics department have a good level of attitudes towards mathematics. The existence of a positive and statistically significant correlational relationship between proportional thinking and their attitudes towards mathematics among third-stage students in the mathematics department. In light of the results she has reached, the researcher puts a set of conclusions from recommendations and proposals for the purpose of conducting subsequent research and studies.
