A1 موسى، خالد حسن أحمد A2 يوسف، حنان A2 عباس، سارة طلعت AB The new media is considered one of the modern means of communication through which millions of internet users communicate, no factors such as age, gender, profession or nationality separate them from each other. These are united by common interests and tendencies, which makes young people more exposed to new media, given their increasing demand on the use of modern technology represented by any other group, due to some psychological and social factors represented in the desire of young people to establish relationships and friendships with others in various countries of the world. The study problem is represented in what is the relationship between adolescents' exposure to new media and its relationship to their intellectual security. Objectives: knowing the weekly rate of the respondents' use of new media, exposing the factors that drive the respondents to obtain information from the new media, knowing the extent of the new media's contribution to spreading intellectual security among adolescents. The study belongs to the descriptive studies, using the descriptive survey method. The research community consisted of Egyptian university students who used the new media, while the actual sample included 400 students from Al-Azhar University, Ain Shams University, and Al-Ahram Canadian University. The results of the study indicated that the most important reasons for the respondents to use the new media are considered to be the fastest in broadcasting news, then to follow up on social issues and issues, followed by as a means of entertainment and enjoyment, then to allow me the possibility of dialogue with others, followed by provides the freedom to comment on some of the published topics and express opinions about them, then to develop my information, followed by appropriate means characterized by interactivity and immediate resonance, then treat different information in multiple ways in text, sound, image and videos, followed by its attractiveness in design and presentation of topics then, discussion about media contents, and finally, allows the production of media content.
