A1 العتيبي، خالد بن عبد الله A2 البرصان، إسماعيل سلامة A2 عبد، إيمان رسمي A2 الشايع، فهد سليمان AB This study aimed to investigate the quality of achievement of the intermediate stage students in science in accordance with the development of math and natural sciences project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in scientific content areas (physics, chemistry, biology and geology) and knowledge fields (knowledge, application and reasoning). Also, it aimed to reveal the areas of strength and areas which need improvement in students’ achievement in science. In addition, it aimed to identify differences of achievement between males and females. To achieve the objectives of the study, an achievement test consisting of (39) multiple- choice items was applied after checking its psychometric properties. The sample of the study consisted of (1760) students. Results of the study revealed that the overall level of science achievement came in the beginning of partially skilled level, where the students' achievement in the field of chemistry was the highest, while the achievement in the field of biology was the lowest. The results also showed that student achievement was the highest in the field of knowledge and the lowest in the field of reasoning. The results also revealed statistically significant differences (a ≤ 0.05) in achievement between males and females in favor of female students.
