A1 الحضرمي، نوف بنت خلف محمد AB The current study is an attempt to identify how prevalent the job burnout phenomenon among public secondary school principals in the general directorate of education in Makkah. Maslach burnout inventory-based questionnaire was designed to achieve the study objectives. The study adopted the descriptive and analytical method, where the population consisted of all principals of public secondary schools, and the questionnaire was distributed among (120) principals. The study concluded that the job burnout among the participants was average with a mean of (3.243), and a standard deviation of (0.487). The study also showed that the more experienced principals with higher qualifications and those who are married are the most vulnerable to job burnout. The results also indicated that the most effective source that causes job burnout for principals is physical work environment and the least effective one is the lack of positive reinforcement.
