A1 Aly, Magdy Mahdi A2 Yahia, Dalia Ibrahim A2 Abu El Enein, Ayman Hassan Ahmed AB The study aims to suggest a systematic program in teaching and learning translation based on pragmatics in written translation from English into Arabic and vice versa; And to assess the effectiveness of the suggested program in developing some translation skills. The study used the descriptive method, and it used as tools the checklist, interview, satisfactory questionnaire and pre-protest. The sample of the study consisted of 100 English students and 30 professors from English department at Al-Aqsa University. The findings showed that the use of the suggested program based on pragmatics enhanced some translation skills of English majors at Al-Aqsa and increased English students’ self-confidence that help them to learn translation courses correctly and easily. In addition, this program improved the active participation and discussion of English students and increased the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It’s also reinforced students based learning of translation courses which leads to the increase of students talking time rather lecturers talking time. Based on the findings, the researchers suggest recommendations that could help in teaching and learning translation courses and then developing translation skills of students.
