The main question of the study problem is: What is the Impact the Employment of Educational Texts/corpora in the Development of Listening Skills in Arabic Language among 4th Basic Grade students in Gaza? Sub-questions include: 1) what are the listening skills that should be developed among the 4th Basic Grade students? 2) Are there statistically significant differences between the mean scores of students who have studied the course using educational texts and those of students who have studied in the traditional way for some listening skills? 3) How effective is the employment of educational texts in the development of the listening skills of the 4th Basic Grade Students? To answer these questions, the following hypotheses were formulated as follows: 1) there were no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and these of the control group in the post measurement of the achievement test of the listening skills. 2) There are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group in the post and pre measurements of the achievement test of the listening skills in favor of the post test. 3) There is effectiveness of employing educational texts on the achievement of listening skills in Arabic. The researcher used the experimental method, in which she chose the fourth unit of Arabic Language book of 4th Basic graders in the second semester. The study is population is (29789) students from the 4th basic graders in Gaza Governorate in the academic year (2013- 2014). An intentional sample was chosen from the schools in eastern Gaza area that included New Gaza Basic School “C” of Male Refugees - UNRWA. Two consequent classes were randomly selected and included a sample study of (78) students, who were divided into two groups: the experimental group of (39) students who learnt by employing educational texts, and the control group of (39) students who learnt through the classical way. To achieve the objectives of this study and to answer the questions and validate the hypotheses, the researcher prepared a teacher’s guide with carefully selected lessons, and then she applied a test to measure the listening skills. Data were collected and analyzed using statistical processing through (SPSS). The study yielded the following results: 1) There are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and these of the control group in the post measurement of the achievement test of the listening skills. 2) There are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group in the post and pre measurements of the achievement test of the listening skills in favor of post test. 3) There is effectiveness of employing the educational texts on achievement of the listening skills in Arabic. Consequently, the study recommended the followings: 1) Paying attention to the skills of listening and their teaching like other language skill such as reading and writing by assigning a class per week for listening, delivered according to a specific methodology. 2) Evaluating students’ performances in listening skills using standardized and appropriate tests for each educational stage with special attention to grading listening skills in Arabic Language tests similar to the grades of dictation, composition, and handwriting. 3) Including significant Educational texts/corpora in Arabic language curricula to enable the students gain facts and concepts and enrich their language achievements. 4) Holding training courses for teachers to familiarize them with the skills of listening and methods of their development among the students.
