A1 العاصي، آلاء وائل A2 أبو عودة، محمد فؤاد A2 عقل، مجدي سعيد A2 الخضري، باسل مهدي AB The study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a suggested training program on Al-Aqsa University student teacher’s acquisition of child protection competencies. To achieve the study aims, the researcher adopted the experimental approach implementing the experiment on one group. The researcher designed the training program based on the outcomes of the previous studies and the theoretical frame which is about child protection competencies. After submitting the training program for Adjustment and arbitration, it was approved for implementation. Then, the researcher constructed the study tools which are an achievement test and an attitude scale. These tools were submitted for adjustment in terms of validity and reliability. The researcher implemented the training program on a random sample composed of (27) students of Education Collage. The study reached the following results: 1) There were statistically significant differences at (α= 0.01) between the main scores attained in the knowledge aspects scale before and after teaching using the training program in favor of the post-application. 2) there were statistically significant differences at (α= 0.01) between the main scores attained in the attitude scale before and after teaching using the training program in favor of the post-application. 3) The training program was effective in developing the Education Collage students’ knowledge of child protection competencies in Al Aqsa University. 4) The training program was not effective in developing the Education Collage students’ attitudes towards child protection in Al-Aqsa University. In the light of the study results, the researcher recommends the following: 1) Designing a compulsory university course about child protection in the Palestinian universities. 2) Developing the education programs in the light of the local and international updates in child protection field. 3) Developing the educational systems to include child protection principles in accordance with Islam norms. 4) Adopting child protection as a reference framework to develop teachers’ skills before and during the service.
