A1 شناوة، جبار رشك A2 عباس، زيد علوان AB This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Effective learning strategies in achievement and critical thinking among second intermediate grade students in the subject of Arab-Muslim history and to achieve the aims of the research , the researchers used the experimental design of two groups experimental and control and randomly picked a sample of second grade students in Al-Razi school chosen randomly from the number of schools in the center of the Al-Qadisiya for the academic year 2015-2016, the sample consisted of 60 male 30 students per group . The researchers built the two tools of the research, first was the achievement test 50 items of multiple choice with four alternatives, and investigated its validity coefficient of discrimination and difficulty and effectiveness of alternatives as well as reliability by Alpha Cronbach 0.84, the second tool is a test of critical thinking 20 items investigated its validity coefficient of discrimination and difficulty of this test, reliability Alpha Cronbach was 0.88. Data analyzing done by SPSS and Microsoft Excel results showed superiority of the experimental group students on the control group students.
