يهدف هذا البحث أساساً إلى أسباب تدني درجات الطلاب في مادة الكيمياء وطرق معالجتها، عن طريق التوصية والمقترحات. استخدمت الباحثة في هذه الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. ويمثل مجتمع البحث معلمي مادة الكيمياء في المرحلة الثانوية في محلية القطينة، البالغ عددهم 89 معلماً ومعلمة، وتمثلت أداة البحث في الاستبانة، وكانت عينة البحث 30 معلماً ومعلمةً. وتم تحليل البيانات بواسطة (SPSS) وتوصل البحث إلى نتائج أسباب أهمها: 1) عدم تدريب المعلمين الذين يدرسون مادة الكيمياء. 2) عدم توافر المعامل في مدارس المرحلة الثانوية. 3) اكتظاظ الفصول بالطلاب. 4) عدم مواظبة الطلاب على حل تدريبات الكتاب . 5) عدم ارتباط محتوى مادة الكيمياء بالبيئة المحلية للطلاب. 6) عدم ارتباط محتوى مادة الكيمياء بما درسه الطلاب في مرحلة الأساس. 7) شعور الملعمين بعدم تقدير مجهوداتهم من قبل الإدارة التربوية. وخلصت الباحثة إلى التوصيات الآتية: 1) ضرورة تدريب المعلمين الذين يدرسون مادة الكيمياء. 2) توفير معامل الكيمياء بكامل معداتها في المدارس الثانوية. 3) مراجعة وتعديل المقرر ليناسب مستويات الطلاب ويراعي المنطق في تسلسل مراحل التعليم. 4) توفير أبنية مدرسية لتقلل اكتظاظ الفصول. 5) توفير أنشطة تعليمية لتجذب الطلاب للتعلم. 6) وضع امتحان مادة الكيمياء بما يناسب قدرات الطلاب. وفي نهاية البحث قدمت الباحثة بعض المقترحات لدراسات مستقبلية. This research aims at investigating the reasons for the students’ degree decline at chemistry and the way of its remedy based on the recommendations and suggestions found by the researcher. The researcher has used the descriptive analytical to approach conducted this study. The population of this study is the male and female teachers of secondary school at Algetainah Locality whose number is about 89 teachers. The instrument of data collection is a questionnaire and the sample is about 30 male and female teachers. SPSS version was used for analyzing the data, and the researcher has come out with the following results: 1) Lack of training for chemistry teachers. 2) Lake of laboratories for secondary schools. 3) The crowded classes with students. 4) Lack of doing the exercises in the students’ book. 5) Lack of relationship between the content of chemistry and the local environment of the students. 6) Lack of the relationship between the chemistry syllabus and what is studied by the students at the basic school level. 7) The teachers’ feeling of neglecting their efforts by the educational administration. Recommendations: 1) Necessity of training for chemistry staff at secondary school. 2) Providing the secondary schools with well prepared laboratories. 3) Revising and modifying the syllabus of chemistry so that they suit the student’s level and also to consider the logical sequence of these syllabus and what is studied by the student. 4) Providing the secondary schools with a good infrastructure to reduce the crowed of classes. 5) Providing the secondary schools with educational activities to attract the students to learning. 6) Considering the students’ ability in preparing the chemistry examinations.
