AB - This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a program based on Goleman's theory of emotional intelligence (Second Step) in developing the solution of social problems among verbal children with autism spectrum disorder. The study sample consisted of (10) articulate children with autism spectrum disorder, within the age group from (5-7) years old, they were chosen by the intentional method, where the sample was subjected to a program based on Goleman's theory of emotional intelligence with (65) sessions. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers used the single case design approach, and developed a measure of social problem-solving skills, after verifying the indications of validity and reliability for them as pre and post measures, and using the correlation coefficient means, and the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results indicated the effectiveness of the program based on Goleman's theory of emotional intelligence in the development of solving social problems among speaking children with autism spectrum disorder.
