AU - Salem, Ashraf Atta M. S. AB - This study explores of the impacts of WebQuests on developing persuasive writing skills. It also aims to assess the actual impacts of the online learning environment on developing online social presence of university students in online learning environments, and sense of belonging among ESP majors. Participants in the study were 72 ESP majors in the College of Management Sciences (CMS), Sadat Academy for Management Sciences (SAMS) in both braches of Alexandria and Tanta; 43 students in the experimental group, and 29 students in the control group. Instruments used in the study include: persuasive writing skills test, Online Social Presence Scale, and Hoffman Sense of Belonging Scale (HSBS). Sequential exploratory mixed research method was used for its appropriacy to the nature of the study. Findings of the study revealed positive impacts on enhancing persuasive writing skills. It is also shown that using this online environment helps learners to improve ESP majors' online social presence. In addition, online social presence and involvement in online learning environment lead to enhancing sense of belonging among ESP majors. (Published abstract) http://search.shamaa.org/abstract_en.gif AB - تهدف الدراسة الكشف عن أثار استخدام الجولات الافتراضية عبر الويب في تنمية مهارات الكتابة الإقناعية، كما تهدف إلى بيان أثر استخدام البيئة الإلكترونية في تدعيم الحضور الاجتماعي لأفراد عينة الدراسة من الطلبة الجامعيين في البيئات التعليمية الالكترونية، هذا بالإضافة إلى بيان أثر ذلك في تعزيز الشعور بالانتماء لدى دارسي اللغة الإنجليزية للأغراض المتخصصة. اشتملت عينة الدراسة على 72 طالباً وطالبة جامعيين من دارسي اللغة الانجليزية للأغراض المتخصصة، بكلية العلوم الإدارية، بأكاديمية السادات للعلوم الإدارية، في فرعي الإسكندرية وطنطا. حيث تكونت العينة التجريبية من 43 طالباً وطالبة، في حين اشتملت العينة الضابطة من عدد 29 طالباً وطالبة. تم استخدام ثلاثة أدوات رئيسة لقياس الأثر المحتمل للإستراتيجية التدريسية المقترحة تضمنت: اختبار مهارات الكتابة الإقناعية، إستبيان الحضور الاجتماعي عبر التعلم الإلكتروني، وكذلك مقياس هوفمان للإحساس بالانتماء. تم استخدام منهج البحث التتابعي الاستكشافي المختلط نظرا لملاءمتها لطبيعة الدراسة. ولقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة الأثار الإيجابية لإستراتيجية الجولات الافتراضية عبر الويب في الارتقاء بمهارت الكتابة الإقناعية، كما أظهرت فاعية الإستراتيجية المقترحة في تعزيز الحضور الاجتماعي عبر البيئات الإلكترونية، أضف إلى ذلك فقد لعب اندماج الطلاب في البيئات الالكترونية وحضورهم اجتماعيا عليها في تدعيم إحساسهم بالانتماء إلى المجموعات التي يعملون من خلالها.
