AU - أحمد، خالد صلاح أبو هاشم AB - This study aimed to: Know the effect of memorizing the Holy Qur’an on developing critical thinking skills among middle school students in Dammam. The problem of the study was determined in answering the following main question: What is the effect of memorizing the Holy Qur’an in developing critical thinking skills? To answer this question, the following hypotheses were tested: There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group (Hafizin) and the mean score of the control group (other than the Hafiz) in each of (deduction skill - skill of inferring text - skill of inference - skill of searching for relationships - Interpretation skill) middle school students in Dammam. The study used: the semi-experimental curriculum, and the study was applied to a sample of (50) students from the Holy Quran Memorization rings, and (50) for the experimental group, as the sample was divided into two experimental and control groups and the ratio was distributed equally between them, and the researcher relied on the study tools on Cognitive test to measure the rules and skills of memorizing the Holy Qur’an, in addition to a scale that measures critical thinking skills based on selected verses from the Qur’an; The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: 1) There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of students of the two groups: experimental and control in the post application of the scale of critical thinking in favor of students of the experimental group, due to the use of the program to memorize the Holy Quran. 2) There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of students of the experimental group in the two applications: pre and post to test the rules and skills of memorizing the Qur’an in favor of the post application, due to the use of the program Recommendations: The study came out based on its findings with a number of recommendations, the most prominent of which were: 1) Selecting the competent teacher to teach the Holy Qur’an course, and the necessity of employing critical thinking skills; Especially while memorizing and teaching the Noble Qur’an. 2) Emphasizing to parents the need for children to memorize the Holy Qur’an, and the development associated with this memorization of their critical thinking skills. Suggestions: The study reached a number of proposals, including the following: 1) Conducting a study on the effect of memorizing the Holy Quran on developing critical thinking skills for students in the Holy Quran Memorization Schools. 2) Writing a test that measures different critical thinking skills based on Qur’anic texts, pure hadiths, and building standards for the school stage.
