AB - The objective of the current research is determined by the effectiveness of an electronic program based on the (simulation) strategy in the cognitive preference of students in the fourth grade scientific in physics. In order to achieve the objective of the research, the null hypothesis was formulated (there is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) and the average scores of the control group students who studied the traditional method in testing their four cognitive preference patterns: recovery, supplementation, principles, application). The study was limited to fourth grade scientific students in preparatory and secondary schools in the city center of Diwaniyah. The researcher used experimental design of the research community composed of students of the fourth grade scientific. Randomly selected (Al Diwaniyah for boys) preparatory to represent the sample of the study, with (68) students divided into two experimental and control groups, the equivalence of the two groups was verified by several variables. The researcher built the research tool, which was a test of cognitive preference, consisting of (22) paragraphs. The researcher built an electronic program based on the strategy of simulation. The experiment was applied in the first semester. The beginning of the actual teaching on Sunday (7/10/2018) to the end of semester on Thursday (3/1/2019). The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental students who studied the physics subject using the electronic program and the scores of the students of the control group who studied the same material in the traditional method in cognitive preference test for the benefit of the experimental group and on the basis of that the researcher made a number of recommendations and proposals.
