AB - This research aims at identifying the role of secondary school leaders in achieving the effective school standards in Asir educational region and whether there are statistically significant differences due to the variables: job, qualification, years of service and governorate. The researcher used the descriptive method, because it suits the nature of the research. The research sample consisted of (68) deputy principals of the secondary public schools with a percentage of (72.34%) of the population in the first semester of the academic year 1439/1440 AH, as well as (196) teachers. The research instrument has been prepared, validated by a number of experts and examined for reliability by using the test-retest method. The results showed that the role of secondary school leaders in achieving effective school standards has been achieved with a percentage of (67.62%), where their role was achieved in (3) standards and was not achieved in one standard. There were (19) indicators with a percentage of (32.76%) of the total indicators of effective school standards in which the role of secondary school leaders has not been achieved. The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences according to the variables: job, years of service and governorate, while there are statistically significant differences according to the qualification variable for the benefit of low qualification.
