AU - المطيري، عبد الرحمن بن علي AB - The mental retardation is one of the special education categories. It is actually considered the biggest category number. The sources of feeling the problem are what the researcher noticed of differences in the studies or its results concerning the size of the mental retardation problem. This difference may happen because of the increase of measures used. Therefore, we need a measurement to indicate to us the degree of intelligence to have the right result. Upon which, the current search aims to know the mental retardation in children who suffer from the mental retardation and the normal ones and reach the diagnostic capacity for Stanford Binet the edition to measure the children who have mental retardation. The search sample was chosen randomly and it consisted of students divided into two groups: mental retardation students and normal ones of the primary school whose age are - years old. The Stanford Binet the edition was used (Roied,) and the results showed that there are differences of statistically significant between the sample individuals of the normal children in the verbal and non verbal intelligence and its five factors and the mental retardation children in most of the verbal and non verbal intelligence factors for the favor of the normal children”.
