AU - أحمد، سمية علي عبد الوارث AB - This study aimed at investigating the thinking styles distinguishing the secondary stage students in the light of hemispheric dominance pattern and some demographic variables. The population of the study included 600 secondary stage male and female students in Altaef City. Harrison and Bramson List (Habeeb, 1995) and the Hemeispheric Doninance Test translated and standardized by the researcher, 2009) were administered to the sample of the study. The study reached the following results: 1) The order of thinking styles among the participants was analytic, idealistic, realistic, practical and synthetic respectively. 2) There was no statistical difference in thinking styles due to the gender (male- female) variable. 3) There were statistical significant differences in thinking styles among the participants of the study due to the academic specialization (literary/ scientific) variable in the synthetic and analytic style in favor of the scientific specialization. However, there was no statistical significant difference in the idealistic, practical and realistic styles due to academic specialization. 4) There were statictical significant differences among the participants of the study due to hemispheric dominance pattern in the synthetic and practical thinking styles in favor of the right hemispheric dominant pattern, and the realistic thinking in favor of the left hemispheric dominant pattern. Yet, there were no statistical differences in the idealistic and the analytic thinking styles. 5) There were no statistical differences in thinking styles due to the interaction between academic specialization and gender. 6) There were no statistical differences in thinking styles due to the interaction between hemispheric dominance pattern, gender and academic specialization. 7) The most common and dominant profile in the sample of the study I was the one- dimension thinking followed by the two dimensions, the non-classified, the superficial and finally the three-dimensional. 8) There was a statistically significant correlation between the practical and the synthetic styles on the one hand, and the right hemeispheric dominance pattern. However, there was no statistically significant correlation between the analytic, idealistic and practical styles on the one hand, and the right hemeispheric dominance pattern. 9) There was a statistically significant correlation between the analytic and the practical styles on the one hand, and the left hemeispheric dominance pattern. However, there was no statistically significant correlation between the idealistic, practical and synthetic styles on the one hand, and the left hemeispheric dominance pattern.
