AU - محمد، محمد شعبان أحمد AB - The main purpose of the present study is to identify social power orientation for a sample of college students (Fayoum University) and its relation to gender (male-female), and to identify Machiavellianism for college students and its relation to gender (male-female), as well as identify the nature of relationship between social power orientation and Machiavellianism. The sample of the present study consisted of (487) college students, (228) male students and (250) female students. Two measures were applied Social Power Orientation scale: prepared by the researcher; and Machiavellianism scale prepared by the researcher. The researcher adopted the descriptive correlation and comparative approach. Findings revealed that there are significant differences between male and female in the level of social power orientation in the favor of male. Also there are significant differences between male and female in the level of Machiavellianism in the favor of male. As well as there are positive correlation between social power orientation and Machiavellianism, as well as the ability of this variable to predict Machiavellianism for university students.
