AB - This study aimed to evaluate the master’s program in library and information science (LIS) at the University of Jordan in light of ala accreditation standards. The self-assessment methodology was applied to assess the availability and quality of the implementation of the five ALA accreditation criteria in the program including systematic planning, curriculum, faculty, students and administration, finances, and resources. Findings showed that the degree of availability and quality of application of the third standard «faculty» was high, while it was medium in the rest of standards. The study made a set of recommendations, the most important were: need to focus on the main elements of systematic planning and in particular the programs’, vision, mission, objectives, and students’ learning outcomes.
