AU - محسن، منتهى عبد الزهرة AB - The problem of study is clear that principals of primary schools follow management strategies that are characterized by severe centralism and bureaucracy in their dealing. That prohibits them from partnership in decision-making which would not lead to promote the level of school management and future prospective. The importance of the study comes from the fact that self-management are in need of research and analysis by the academics and the instructors in the field of school management. This study could contribute to the attracting the attention of the officials in the ministry of Education. The present study was confined to the male and female principals who work in primary schools in the general directorate of education in Rusafa (first, second and third) and al-Karkh (first, second, and third) in the governorate for the academic year 2017-2018. The total number was 2457, the researcher determined the group of terminology of this paper and displayed a number studies related to the theoretical aspect. A group of procedures were followed in terms of describing the sample of study which is made up of 400 individuals in a ratio 16% to the research community. The researcher built a special tool in addition to the making of validity ad constancy test on the tool. The research came up with a number of findings then displayed and discussed them then she puts a group of conclusions, recommendations and suggestions were placed.
