AB - The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of using the six hats in developing reading comprehension skills of literary texts of 5 grade students in the Middle Area, to achieve the study aim, the researcher used the quasi-example approach which includes an experimental group and a control group with pre and posttest The study sample consisted of 80 students from the 5th grade, the Nuseirat elementary school which was divided into two group: an experimental group which taught by using the six hats in developing reading comprehension skills of literary texts while the other group used the second term of (2014-2015) year to gather data, the researcher prepared the following tools. A list for developing comprehension skills of literary text of 5th grad students and achievement test. The following statistical methods were used: T. test, Eta coefficient, and black modified Equation. The study result: 1) There are statistically difference at a=0.05) between the mean of the experimental group and the means of control group in the post test of the achievement test in favor of the experimental group. 2) The effectiveness of using six hats approach in developing reading comprehension skills of literary texts of the 5th grade students in the Middle Area. In the light of these finding , the researcher recommended the necessity of implementing six hats approach in reading comprehension skills of literary texts far all different levels of teaching.
