AB - This study aimed at investigating the impact of using cartoons strategy on the development of concepts and written expression skills among female fourth graders ii Gaza. Study materials and tools: The study materials and tools included a list of written expression skills, a list of concepts to be developed among fourth graders, cartoons for each lesson of the experiment, a test to measure the development of concepts, and a test to measure the development of written expression skills. The study sample was purposively selected from the Zaytoun Primary Co-ed School (A). Two of the school five fourth grade classes were randomly selected. One was assigned as the experimental group and consisted of (40) students who studied by the cartoons strategy. The other was assigned as the control group and consisted of (40) students who studied by the traditional method. The researcher adopted the descriptive approach and quasiexperimental approach. Study most important findings: 1) There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of the control group and those of the experimental group in the test of concepts in favor of the experimental group. 2) There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of the control group and those of the experimental group in the test of written expression skills in favor of the experimental group. Study most important recommendations: 1) It is necessary that the cartoon strategy be used in teaching because it contributes to the development of concepts and skills of written expression and raises real and effective participation in the teaching-learning process. 2) Training courses should be held for teachers of the basic stage to train them on the use of the cartoons strategy.
